The Renowned Musician Urges Backing to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project aims to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It occupies a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The track was produced after a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a group of prominent voices from the industry. All participated in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a significant sum for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a team of talented individuals. The single features a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the initiative have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These resources will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Obviously, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the region was described as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a handful of millions doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the solidarity show will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from later in the month.
